Jessi Jokelainen
Member of Parliament
Jessi Jokelainen (b. 1996) is a first-term Member of Parliament from Oulu, a teacher of Finnish language and literature, and a city councillor.
I believe Finland needs a shift in its economic priorities and structural reforms that guarantee wellbeing, a sustainable future and confidence in what lies ahead for everyone. Finland should be a country where we take care of one another and of the conditions that sustain life, so that we leave society in a better state than it was when we were born.
The Left Alliance is my party because I believe it stands on the most morally consistent foundation and represents the values and goals that guarantee the conditions for a good life for everyone, regardless of background or life situation.
In politics, you achieve the most when you turn frustration into action and allow yourself to think big. A curious mind also helps, because opportunities for cooperation can always be found, even in the most surprising places!
