The chairperson of the party council and two vice-chairpersons are elected in the party congress.
The party council decides on matters such as the economic, political and organisational guidelines of the party and on participation in the government. Meetings are held, when necessary, with usually at least two meetings per year. The spring and autumn meetings are usually held in person.
The chairperson of the party council is a member of the party bureau.
