Insurance with Turva

Turva has provided insurance cover for members of the Left Alliance at all events organised by the party. Members also receive insurance benefits from the insurance company Turva.

Change of address

New members’ addresses are updated in our membership register via Posti. However, this does not always happen – the surest way is to notify the Left Alliance of your change of address by email, telephone or post: jasenasiat@vasemmistoliitto.fi, tel. 040 723 5009 or Left Alliance, Lintulahdenkatu 10, 00500 Helsinki.

If, for example, you have not received your membership fee invoice in recent years, please get in touch, as this means your address is missing from our records. Our telephone service is open on Mondays and Tuesdays from 10.00 to 15.00.

We use e-invoicing

As a red-green party, the Left Alliance has switched to environmentally friendly e-invoicing. It is now possible to choose e-invoicing as the billing method for future membership fees. Recipients of e-invoices do not receive paper invoices by post; instead, they receive a notification that an invoice has arrived in their online banking service. This saves on postage costs, paper and helps protect the environment.

Bank policies vary, but all banks provide further information on their e-invoicing pages. For example, a bank’s online banking site may feature a service called ‘E-invoice’, through which the payer can search a list for the name of the invoicer – in this case, the Left Alliance – and indicate that they wish to receive the invoice via their online banking service. Depending on the bank, when paying a bill, a link may appear above the payment field, which you can use to request an e-invoice.

Find out about the E-invoice service offered by your own online bank and consider switching to this eco-friendly option. You can ask your bank for further information.

Those who do not wish to receive e-invoices will continue to receive paper invoices.

Resignation

Resignation from the Left Alliance must be notified in writing by email or post: jasenasiat@vasemmistoliitto.fi or Left Alliance, Lintulahdenkatu 10, 00500 Helsinki. Failure to pay membership fees does not immediately result in expulsion; see Section 8 of the Left Alliance’s Rules:

“If a member of a grassroots or local organisation, or a direct individual member of the party, has failed to pay their membership fee for two (2) consecutive calendar years and does not pay the fee by the next payment deadline, the Party Executive may expel the member of the member association and the direct individual member.”

If, upon leaving the party, a person also wishes to cancel their newsletter subscription, they must notify the party separately. The newsletter also has many subscribers who are not members.
