Hanna Sarkkinen (born 1988) is a Member of Parliament from Oulu and a city councillor for Oulu. In the Marin government, she served as Minister for Social Affairs and Health. She holds a Master of Arts degree. In my view, Finland particularly needs politics that inspire hope. For too long, our country has pursued short-sighted policies that focus mainly on cuts, reductions and minor tweaks. We need visions of a better world and ways to solve the problems plaguing the world.

The Left Alliance is my party because our policies combine the issues that matter most to me: building an equal society, reducing inequality, and tackling the environmental and climate crises.

In politics, you achieve the most when you get to the bottom of issues, justify your position convincingly and have the stamina to keep pushing. Politics is a team sport, so cooperation and collaboration are the best ways to get things done.
